Rooted in Folly, Driven by Family
At Starfire Golf Cart Rental, we’re a small, local team rooted in family, community, and a love for Folly Beach’s laid-back lifestyle. The idea for a golf cart rental company came during slow afternoons on the Folly River—anchored on the sandbars, talking about how nice it would be to offer visitors and locals a cleaner, easier way to get around the island. At sunset, the sky would catch fire in brilliant shades of orange and pink—bold, warm, and unforgettable. Starfire is our nod to those moments, where the idea—and the name—first came to life.
With over 30 years of combined roots on Folly between us, we built Starfire to reflect everything we love about this place: the ease, the charm, and the freedom to ride slow and soak it all in. Our carts are designed right here on Folly and assembled locally in Charleston, SC. As part of our mission to keep community at the center of what we do, we work closely with local homeowners and vacation rental companies to make sure our impact on the island is positive.

Ben keeps things running and brings the heart and hustle that hold it all together.
Jody, who lives on the island with his dog Buddy, helped bring the business to life.
Kate is the creative brain behind the brand—shaping the look, the feel, and the experience.
Whitney knows this island inside and out—she’s the one making sure every guest feels right at home.
Jack & John are our all-around go-to guys—delivering carts and keeping them in great shape, always with a good attitude.
And then there’s Wyatt—our three-year-old helper who takes special pride in cleaning the carts.
